The UN Peacebuilding Commission is a brand new addition to our list of councils this year. It will be simulated as a double delegation committee, and will test abilities such as policy making and conflict resolution of the delegates. Established in 2005 as an advisory subsidiary body of the UNSC and the General Assembly, its primary job has been to maintain ongoing peace efforts in war-torn countries that have been suffering for decades. The council examines global threats and provides an analysis of future challenges to international peace and security. Ever since its inception, the Commission has been arterial to the functioning of the UN, in volatile post-conflict situations.
