UN Women was formed in order to combat gender inequality and promote women empowerment. It aims at inculcating equal participation of all genders in all aspects of life. The organisation works with government bodies and civil societies, and ensures training programmes for women. With additional objectives of income security and proper job opportunities, UN Women also aims at making Sustainable Development Goals a reality for women around the globe. The purpose of gender equality extends beyond human rights; a plethora of socio-economic opportunities find their way in its pursuit.
